Threaded Alchemy

Threaded Alchemy was born out of my love for fashion and textiles and reworking and transforming materials. I grew up saving fashion editorials and designer ads from magazines, first as references for drawing, and then over time, could see how these images influenced my photography and filmmaking aesthetics. Foraging thrift shops is something I have done since childhood and “treasure hunting” became a comforting hobby. In the summer of 2022 I decided to take sewing more seriously and devoted my spare time to learning to read, follow and modify patterns. I’m entirely self-taught and I first started experimenting with deconstructing and reconstructing garments and textile pieces. Now I’m finally at a place where I can technically create the visions I have in my head! I’m committed to making pieces that are unique and take away from, rather then contribute to the vast waste stream that fast fashion creates.
